A window is never complete without decor—and that decor needs something to hang on. That’s where curtain rods come in. Let’s take a closer look at the different types.

By construction type:

• Rod-style (tube rods);

When choosing, consider your interior style, personal preferences, and specifics of your space.

Curtains are only half of the story—your curtain rod plays an important decorative and functional role. The right choice makes all the difference.

• Track systems are flat or wide rails with 1 to 4 channels for hanging curtains. Suitable for both ceiling and wall mounting.
• Rod-style systems (classic choice) use a pipe and decorative finials on the ends.
• Wire rods consist of one or more tensioned metal wires. Ideal for light fabrics only, as heavy curtains may sag the wire.
• Baguette systems feature a decorative front bar that hides the mounting mechanism behind it.

Also consider:

• The material (metal, wood, etc.)
• Installation location (ceiling or wall)
• Your room's design and style

Measuring your curtain rod is a crucial step. Before you begin, ask yourself:

• Will you mount it on the wall or ceiling?
• Do the window dimensions fit the scale of the room?

Tips:

• For full-wall rods, leave a small gap between the rod and wall edges.
• Rod length should exceed the window width by at least 25 cm (10 in). For a visually larger window, add more.
• Place support brackets every 1.5–2 meters (5–6.5 ft).
